Flipkart, has launched its own fashion brand (Flippd) last week, and is looking at expanding its reach into women’s wear. In 2014, it will go a step ahead and look at acquiring some brands under its kitty. It is believed private labels such as Zovi, Yep Me are under consideration for acquisition, along with varied opportunities within the market space.
The coming months might see major e-commerce players looking at pushing forth the idea of creating private labels to boost profit. Snapdeal and now Flipkart are aiming at using this strategy and hope to garner profits soon. This two-billion dollar industry has opened doors for real-time shopping and made consumer the king.
